Qualified Mechanics - What You Need To Know

car-servicing

Did you know that not all ‘service centres’ employ qualified mechanics? Do you know why it’s important to only allow a qualified mechanic to work on your vehicle?

Before we get started, you can rest assured that all AutoPlus Service Centres are staffed by qualified mechanics. Here’s why it’s so important to only trust your vehicle to a qualified mechanic.

Qualified Mechanics - Why It's Important

In Australia, mechanics become qualified through an apprenticeship undertaken over 4 years, incorporating a combination of on and off the job training, including formal TAFE training.

It is not illegal however to set up a business to work on cars (repairs and service), even if you have no formal qualifications (and regardless of experience). Whilst experience is valuable, it is best when combined with formal qualifications. Without appropriate, recognised training, there are no guarantees for the quality of the work completed or the level of experience.

Qualified Mechanics, like those at AutoPlus Service Centres, utilise their training and experience to work on a wide variety of vehicle servicing, problems and symptoms. They also utilise a range of resources to keep up to date with the complex systems found in modern vehicles. Qualified Mechanics also understands the importance of using the right parts, fluids and lubricants when maintaining, servicing and repairing specific vehicles. They understand that using an inferior or incorrect product can cause costly damage to a vehicle and even create dangerous safety problems.

It’s also important that a Qualified Mechanic completes work on your new car to protect your manufacturer’s warranty. You have the right to your choice of mechanic while maintaining your manufacturer’s warranty, however, the work must be completed to the manufacturer’s specifications by a suitably qualified professional.

Don’t trust your vehicle to just anyone. Contact your nearest AutoPlus Service Centre for bookings or if you have any questions about finding the right person to maintain your vehicle.
